Grammy® recording artists and songwriters have retained the firm to protect and vindicate their rights in connection with various disputes, including those concerning: management agreements, copyright royalties, and recording agreements. Previously, the firm successfully represented Mr. Ramble Jon Krohn (p/k/a "RJD2"), an artist formerly with XL Recordings and responsible for the theme music to the HBO's Mad Men, in breach of recording agreement arbitration with the American Arbitration Association against one of Mr. Krohn's former labels. More recently, we obtained a precedent setting decision from the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department, concerning the interpretation of music industry contracts on behalf of a Grammy® award winning Island Def Jam recording artist who has recorded with Mr. Sean Carter (p/k/a "Jay Z"), among others.
