Yvonne Perez-Zarraga Of Counsel

Professional Experience.

Ms. Perez-Zarraga is of counsel to the firm. She engages in a broad, sophisticated trusts and estates practice representing moderate and high net worth individuals in connection with estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, and estate-related litigation.

By developing and implementing advanced estate plans, Ms. Perez-Zarraga addresses her clients' goals of determining the best structures for the distribution of their assets at death and maximizing their wealth for future generations using tax effective strategies. She also counsels clients with regard to all aspects of trust and estate administration, including navigating the probate process in the Surrogate's Court, filing necessary federal and state tax returns, and representing clients in estate tax audits. In addition, Ms. Perez-Zarraga has advised clients with regard to charitable giving and the rules related to tax-exempt organizations, including the formation of private foundations and public charities and application for tax-exempt status. Ms. Perez-Zarraga has been involved in numerous estate and trust litigation matters before the New York Surrogate's Courts, including, but not limited to, probate contests, guardianship proceedings and actions by and against fiduciaries of estates or trusts. She has also practiced before the United States Tax Court.

Prior to becoming of counsel to the firm, Ms. Perez-Zarraga was an attorney in the Personal Planning Department of Proskauer Rose LLP.
